We are excited to host
Dr rebelista
(she/her)
Dr rebelista (rebelista in scene, Dr rebelista when teaching) has been on and off the scene – in the UK and Netherlands – for a long time, but only recently found her way into the kink that makes her crip & neurodivergent kinky juices flow. She’s quite versatile in her kink interests, but mostly identifies as a submissive, including submissive topping. She has crip and neurodivergent limitations and needs around her kink experiences and possibilities. But one of Dr rebelista's discoveries is that she enjoys for her ADHDness to be used, in an ADHD-affirmative context, for the better kinky good. In her vanilla life she’s an academic with an activist background, including in leadership positions. While having warm feelings towards other approaches to (her) cripness and neurodivergence (eg disability justice, neurodiversity paradigm), she’s very passionate about the ‘social model of disability’. It is the ‘social model of disability’ that allowed Dr rebelista to politicise herself and conscienticise her disabledness. She makes sense of her ADHDness and the neuroableism that she experiences against a background of thoughts around disability, accessibility and ableism. She thinks, teaches and theorises about these things professionally too, always through an intersectional (and) feminist lens. Dr rebelista is excited about the opportunity to teach about the ‘social model of disability’, and also offer reflections on how a ‘social model’ framework can be used to produce kink, kink spaces and a kink community that is more inclusive, accessible, neuroaffirmative and fun & hot!
Who will be presenting:
Neurodiversifying and Cripping Kink: Reflections on the Social Model of Disability for Neuroaffirmative Kink
Class Description
Neurodiversifying and Cripping Kink: Reflections on the Social Model of Disability for Neuroaffirmative Kink
Dr rebelista will teach in this class about the ‘social model of disability’ or, in short, ‘the social model’. You will learn about…
- the social-economic and political background against which the social model developed,
- the problems with the individual/medical model of disability – including the pathology, superpower and charity models
- what the social model is and does and does not offer
- what a social model of ADHD could be
- the use of the social model for thinking about creating inclusive and neuroaffirmative relations, spaces and communities
- theoretical and intersectional reflections.
Dr rebelista will emphasise how the social model can contribute to…
1. our conscientisation for our collective and individual neurodivergent & crip kink liberation
2. creating more inclusive & neuroaffirmative relations, spaces & communities
3. neurodiversifying & cripping our kink
There will be space for questions. Dr rebelista will share resources for further learning.

Towards a critical and intersectional neuroaffirmative model: reunderstanding ADHDness
Class Description
Towards a critical and intersectional neuroaffirmative model: reunderstanding ADHDness
Dr rebelista will offer an expert class on ADHDness and neurodivergence that challenges the pathology paradigm or the individual/medical model of disability and neurodivergence (including the moral, the charity, and the superpower/strengths models), and inclusively lays bare the problems they have created. She will offer a theoretical framework around neuronormativity and neuroableism, grounded in a critical and intersectional neuroaffirmative approach, with a specific focus on ADHDness.
