We are excited to host
Celestial
(They/them)
Celestial has been in the kink community as a whole for about six years, with the over the last two years being in the DFW community. As a switch, they have experience in established dynamics on both sides of the slash in both a D/s and M/s context. They have had to learn how to navigate negotiations and implementation of these dynamics through working with trauma, their and their partners neurodivergence, and their disabilities. They are autistic, queer, genderfluid non-binary with EDS, C-PTSD, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.
They have taught classes at one of the local dungeons, Infliction Hall, on wax play, knives, sensation, and negotiations/informed consent while also providing one on one instruction and tastings for fire play. They have also conducted impact and wax play tastings at other communities events. They have played many roles in volunteering in the community, including running Chronically Kinky nights at Infliction for over a year, which is a night for neurodivergent and/or disabled folks to learn, experience, and enjoy each other.
Who will be presenting:
Disability, Neurodivergence, and Trauma in Negotiations
Class Description
Disability, Neurodivergence, and Trauma in Negotiations
Being disabled is not a barrier to being kinky, but it can be a barrier into kink spaces or relationships with accommodations. This class will discuss ways to accommodate various disabilities, neurodivergence, and trauma both as a top and bottom. This includes how to accommodate yourself or others during negotiation, play itself, and aftercare, even ideas on how to build and store your kits. We will also hone in on informed consent. If you have gone to any classes on negotiations or consent, the instructor probably talked about "informed consent." But what does informed consent really mean? We will ask the questions to think about during negotiation and what informed consent might look like when you are playing as a disabled, neurodivergent, or disabled top or bottom.
