Profile Details

Lee Harrington (he/him) is an internationally known spiritual and erotic authenticity educator, gender explorer, eclectic artist, and award-winning author and editor on erotic and sacred experience. He’s been traveling the globe (from Seattle to Sydney, Berlin to Boston), teaching and talking about sexuality, psychology, faith, desire, and more, and is grateful for the journeys and love he has found along the way. A nice guy with a disarmingly down to earth approach to the fact that we are each beautifully complex ecosystems, he examines the human experience from that lens. Lee has been a passion instigator, academic, adult film performer, world-class sexual adventurer, outspoken philosopher, kink/bondage expert, and has been blogging about sex and spirit since 1998.

His books include “Traversing Gender: Understanding Transgender Realities,” “Playing Well With Others: Your Guide to Discovering, Exploring and Negotiating the Kink, Leather and BDSM Communities” (with Mollena Williams), “Sacred Kink: The Eightfold Paths of BDSM and Beyond,” “Shibari You Can Use: Japanese Rope Bondage and Erotic Macramé,” “More Shibari You Can Use: Passionate Rope Bondage and Intimate Connection,” the “Toybag Guide to Age Play,” and “Shed Skins: Journeying in Self-Portraits.” He has also worked as an anthology editor for “Queer Magic: Power Beyond Boundaries,” “Rope, Bondage, and Power” and “Spirit of Desire: Personal Explorations of Sacred Kink,” while contributing actively to other anthologies, magazines, blogs and collaborations. Check out the trouble Lee has been getting into, as well as his regular podcast, tour schedule, free essays, videos and more over at PassionAndSoul.com.

Fleshing it Out: Sacred and Profane Body Modifications

Class Description

The world over, body modification is used as a way to express identity – whether that is self-identity, cultural (or sub-cultural) affiliation, personal milestones, political views, spiritual connections, or other points of personal expression. Are you aware of the modifications you have already made to live the life you currently have, such as having a specific hair style to blend in with your peer circle, or living at a specific body weight? We will look at the wide variety of body modifications available today (from henna/mehndi to hook hangs, tattoos to ritual jewelry, stage makeup to genital reconstruction surgery, breast augmentation to flesh removal), and discuss the energy and inherent in each type of modification, and their social implications today. Let’s examine together why every act of modifying our flesh can be sacred, and every act can profane – no matter the type of alteration, no matter the transformation.

Magic of Queerness, the Queerness of Magic

Class Description

Many pagan and magic-based paths are not LGBTQ+ focused, and yet magic in and of itself has a queer nature. In this class we will discuss queer deities throughout history, as well as the ancestors that can be drawn upon outside of bloodlines, while acknowledging the power of ourselves being outside of, between, or embracing multiple layers of orientation, identity, and experience. We will explore queering and queered magics, from turning rituals that already exist into ones that center queer experience to creating or embracing rituals and paths specifically for those of us who walk these paths. This class is open to anyone drawn to learn more about these topics, share their own personal experiences, be around peers, or become an ally through looking at the expansive nature of magic beyond boundaries.

Role-Playing or Role-Being: Identity, Exploration and Mental Health

Class Description

Roleplaying is a powerful opportunity for evoking emotions and characters from inside ourselves or invoking personas for an evening of fun. For a variety of individuals on mental health adventures, this amazing tool can be used for more than erotic naughtiness or delight. Individuals dancing with depression exploring roles that let them "fake it 'til you make it." People with multiplicity having an opportunity to have a personality "front" in a agreed upon space. Folks living with anxiety finding safety in pre-set roles where protection roles are at play. These are but a few places where role-playing... or role-being in certain cases... can be used. In this hybrid class and discussion we will creatively brainstorm how we can thrive using roles and personas in kink and roleplay contexts, while also acknowledging that things can also go wrong in roleplay because of our past trauma, triggers, and non-disclosed mental health realities.

Rope as Sacred Ritual

Class Description

Ordeal path workings using torture tie techniques. Hand-made rope collars for intentional acts of submission. Transformational rites using rope for rites of passage or deity invocation. Bondage positions for yoga, trance workings, and divination. We will explore how this powerful tool can create amazing art on the canvases of our lovers' bodies, or be used for transformative rituals of intimacy and healing. This simple concept of wrapping lines around a beloved (or ourselves) can tap into the power of our sensuality, mindfulness, passion, and delight. Kink scenes can challenge us into cathartic ordeals, emotional transformation, and dancing between the worlds in transcendent scenes. Rope has the power to be used as a diverse energetic, spiritual and magical tool, and in this class we will dive into historical applications of rope magic and turn to the present in a discussion full of storytelling exploring how this amazing tool can be explored no matter your path.
