Class Description
Religious upbringing from childhood to adulthood can fuel someone’s fantasies and affect self-image, producing feelings of shame, guilt, blasphemy, and repression. This workshop will unpack the intersectionality between Religious Trauma and Sexual Repression. We will explore why a faith tradition you haven’t practiced in three-to-five decades may create barriers to enjoying kink today. We will also touch on Toxic Religious Experience (TRE), which mirrors complex PTSD connected to traumatic religious experiences.
