Aromantic & Asexual Agency & BDSM Community Fuckery
Class Description
Aromantic & Asexual Agency & BDSM Community Fuckery
It is a sadly common experience for folks on the asexual and/or aromatic spectrums to experience horrible things from the kink & BDSM communities we engage with. Everything from discrimination to microaggressions, to–well, a ton of fuckery. The all too common experiences can negatively impact the mental well-being of us aro and/or ace folks. So, what can we do to help protect ourselves, reinforce our self-worth, and not let the assholes get us down? There are heaps of things! Asexual and Aromantic spectrum representatives Nyx & Mxstress will be diving into various self-advocacy and agency skill-building concepts, as well as some helpful tips, tricks, tools, techniques, and theories, from a few therapy modalities. You are awesome as you are, and we won’t let you forget that!
Presenter Bio:
Nyx Lunaea (they/them) is a non-binary, queer, asexual disabled human who has been in the BDSM lifestyle since 2009, and has been in their current dynamic since 2012. They are an extrovert, a lover of pointy things, tattoo collector, painter, gardener, RPG fiend, and are a part-time dog. Nyx gives many a heck about inclusivity, accessibility, the BDSM lifestyle, and making the world a better place! They are enthusiastic about teaching others about the importance of consent, LGBTQIA+ info, and safer sex practices. They believe that it is important to always be learning, and always growing!

Everyone Else Feels Alone Too - Agency in Building a Kink Community
Class Description
Everyone Else Feels Alone Too - Agency in Building a Kink Community
For most of us, a social life and a community are key to achieving one’s goals, building a safety net, and feeling satisfied with life. Social isolation has been a growing issue for many years, and its effects are often compounded by the social stresses of neurodiversity. For neurodivergent people, the kink community may be a hopeful source of socialization and connection-building, but what do you do when you are geographically isolated? When everything feels out of reach? When you feel too nervous to go to munches? When everyone only seems to like house parties? When you don’t drink? When that restaurant is too loud? When you feel the impulse to say “fuck it - I’ll make my own?”
This class will focus on exercising one’s agency in organizing and building a kink community from a specifically neurodivergent lens, and navigating anxiety and feelings of self-worth in the process of finding community.

Putting Queer/Kink Affirming Care into practice
Class Description
Putting Queer/Kink Affirming Care into practice
This class offers tools that create a more affirming practice of care. It can feel very basic but they are small day to day things that create affirming care that can be integrated into healthcare practices. Goblin will share what queer and kinky people experience when navigating care systems; what queer and kinky people want you to know; and the tools they use in their massage therapy, reproductive support, and advocacy work. Their hope is that attendees will leave with an understanding of the challenges queer and kinky people face, tools to provide affirming care, and with resources to continue growing beyond the class.
Presenter Bio:
Goblin is a genderqueer, queer, plural reproductive justice and body worker who is fascinated in the ways their kink experience interacts in their own body and the care work they do. They have presented on putting queer care into practice in health and reproductive settings.
