Class Description
In this panel session, we're diving into a fascinating and important topic: how Cluster B personality disorders and the traits associated with them intersect with kink and BDSM. This panel is a space to openly explore how mental health challenges and identities influence, and are influenced by, kink practices, dynamics, ethics, and communities.
We'll discuss topics like stigma, self-awareness, consent, and how to maintain mental wellness within kink spaces. Whether you're new to these conversations or a seasoned community member with a Cluster B disorder yourself, you'll gain insights into how these subjects can weave together in ways that are empowering, complex, and deserving of respect.

AJ Renard (she/her) has been involved in the BDSM world her entire adult life, although she was a dark little thing far before that. AJ is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist and has a deep passion for teaching about the intersection of BDSM and mental health. She finds her happy place when there is rope, electricity, knives, boots, fear, and a lot of crying involved.
AJ teaches a variety of classes all over the country, including classes on consent, negotiations, perspectives on D/s, bottoming for intense scenes and edgeplay, mental health and BDSM, and behavioral science in PE dynamics. Additionally, she often teaches about BDSM in non-kink spaces, hoping to de-stigmatize kink for therapists and medical professionals. She also loves bottoming for Violet Wand demos, and things that make her shy in front of groups of people.

I am a Queer Autistic Latina living in Tampa, FL. I have lived experience with mental illness and substance use, and I have a drive to support others who are struggling with those issues. I am currently working towards my Masters in Social Work and hope to use my knowledge and skills to educate and provide safer, more inclusive spaces in my community. I also run Polykinkery Tampa Bay, a social group for the local polyamorous and kinky communities, and host monthly munches.

She shares her AuDHD and BPD lived experience knowledge to better support these communities and reduce stigma.
