Class Description
Kink and BDSM are practices with a wide variety of motivations and purposes. In this session, Mxstress will explore how Kink and BDSM have (and can) be utilized in pursuit of emotional expression and processing of day-to-day emotions. Mxstress will begin the session with a short exploration of the foundational components (psychological, cultural, neurological, psychosomatic, physiological, etc.) of why Kink and BDSM are useful tools in your emotional processing tool kit. After these foundations are explored, attendees will learn more about the practical applications of Kink and BDSM being used as a tool for emotional expression and processing. Mxstress will facilitate discussion for attendees to share, reflect, and apply this framework to their own experiences (past, present, and/or future) and conclude the space with Q&A.

Presenter Bio
Mxstress is an educational consultant, public speaker, professional dominatrix, and coach with over a decade of facilitation experience. Their work spans disciplines but focuses on the experiences of individuals with historically marginalized or minoritized identities, especially queer, transgender, and gender non-conforming people of color. They use humor, empathy, and honesty to empower all in a shared pursuit of justice, liberation, community, and dismantling systemic oppression.
Drummer Pony is a transgender, queer, autistic leatherman, sadomasochist, ponyboy and all-around deviant with a flair for the extravagant and bizarre. He has been active in the Colorado leather community for almost five years and spends much of his time engaging with the Rocky Mountain Pony Herd. He is an avid writer, artist, and gardener with a background in environmental science and justice.
